  • Management Approach

    Our Commitment value incorporates customer privacy (‘We recognise and respect personal privacy’).

    Customer privacy is respected. The group is currently in the process of implementing appropriate processes and procedures in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act which is due to be implemented in South Africa. It is also covered in our Worldwide Code of Conduct.

  • 418-1: Substantiated complaints concerning breaches of customer privacy and losses of customer data

    The reporting organization shall report the following information:
    a. Total number of substantiated complaints received concerning breaches of customer privacy, categorized by:
    i. complaints received from outside parties and substantiated by the organization;
    ii. complaints from regulatory bodies.
    b. Total number of identified leaks, thefts, or losses of customer data.
    c. If the organization has not identified any substantiated complaints, a brief statement of this fact is sufficient.
    Integrated Report:

    The group is sensitive to security and use of personal information and has implemented a programme to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the pending Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI) in South Africa.

    Under the Commitment value in our Worldwide Code of Conduct, we undertake to “... use electronic communications technology responsibly and professionally” and “We recognise and respect personal privacy”.

    Incidents would be thoroughly and independently investigated and appropriate action taken.
